Abstract

The low toxic electrolyte for tin-zinc alloy coating (20–50 %) containing lactic acid of the following composition: lactic acid (80 % water solution) – 50 ml/l, tin chloride (IV) (on metal) – 30 mg/l, zinc oxide (on metal) – 1,5–4,5 g/l was developed. The alloy coating containing 48–52 % tin is characterized by a rather high corrosion resistance, low value of inner compression strength and transitive electroresistance, high wear resistance and solderability.

Key words

tin-zinc alloy electrodeposition, corrosion resistance, inner strength, transitive electroresistance, wear resistance, solderability.
